Apothecia 1-2 mm, convex when moist, concave or wrikled when dry. Excipulum gelatinous, blackish brown, interior (humenium) whitish. Asci club-shaped, gradually tapering towards the base, IKI negative. Spores variable in shape, narrowly to broadly spindle-shaped, or sometimes more bulky, becoming 1-septate, most spores with a rather long appendix (spike) at one (or sometimes both) ends. 20-25 microns long, width highly variable.Assiciated with green algae in places. Possibly lichenised?

compare with Tryblidiopsis. P. pinastri occurs on Picae twigs, despite its name.

That is spot on. I wonder how i failed to spot it myself, since it is a rather common species in Norway.
