Since my findings of two Trichodelitschia species on a piece of horse dung in april last year I started a research about the species T. minuta and T. bisporula.
There were too many contradictions between the two caused by different opinions of authors as layed down in their documentations.
So I have been digging into 28 documentations and compaired them with my own observations.
Conclusion is that in my opinion T. minuta does not exist as a stand alone species.
I did send the result of my research to David Malloch in Canada for confirmation and this was his answer:

To me, the final resolution of this problem rests entirely on what Fuckel had on hand when he described Delitschia minuta. As you have discovered, he apparently didn't see, or maybe overlooked, the typical perithecial setae of Trichodelitschia species. The name must be based on the type specimen, not what Fuckel reported. It seems, according to Lundqvist, that the exsiccata Fungi Rhenani 2273 (at least the one in Sweden) distributed by Fuckel contains material comparable to T. bisporula.


If Fungi Rhenani 2273 really is the same as T. bisporula then the name Delitschia minuta and all its later combinations are simply synonyms of it and can be taken out of current use. They probably have Fungi Rhenani in the herbarium at Naturalis. Do you think they might give you permission to go there and examine it? It would be nice to confirm Lundqvist's observations.
