Ascobolus sacchariferus?
Juuso Äikäs, 27-02-2020 12:36
These grew on a pile of moose or deer dung. The apos were fairly small, maybe 1mm or so. The appearance and spore size (19-20 x 9.5-10) seem to fit A. sacchariferus. Am I right or is this something else?

Hi,

this is A. sacchariferus. The outside is conspicuous granular, looks like sugar, lat. saccharum.
Peter.

Re : Ascobolus sacchariferus?
I see, thanks. These didn't seem to have any "sugar".

The "sugar" you can only see on young and fresh apothecia.
