Mirek Gryc, 13-01-2020 15:37
Something like Hydropisphaera?
Yesterday found on old fruiting bodies of Stereum hirsutum growing on Carpinus wood.

spores:
Me = 10.6 × 3.8 µm; Qe = 2.8
10.74 4.26
10.07 3.89
10.37 4.07
10.68 3.88
10.56 4.09
11.49 3.55
10.75 3.36
10.27 3.41
Thank you in advance for your help!

Re : Hydropisphaera?
Dear Mirek,

it is not the genus Hyropisphaera, maybe Sphaerostilbella

Re : Hydropisphaera?
Thank you Christian.
I will try to compare to Sphaerostilbella berkeleyana. I also noticed violet colors at some fruiting bodies at the mouth.
Is there any key for them?
This is my first microscopic species of this type so I don't even know what features to look for?
Regards
Mirek

Re : Hydropisphaera?
Hi Enrique
I've already compared it with your collection. All microscopic features are compatible with yours.
However, I am wondering about the bright color of my fruiting bodies. I suspect that this could be due to the almost complete lack of light. The bough on which the mushrooms grew lay on the ground and was covered with a thick layer of leaves fallen from trees. In addition, a few days ago we had frosts and even some snow fell so the fruit bodies were almost completely lightless.
I can't see any other explanation for such a situation, although I suspect that the sporocarps are still quite young?
Due to the fact that this is my first find of this species it is difficult for me to say anything more about it. It seems, however, that this is probably the genre but just in case I will call it "cf".
Thank you and best regards
Mirek
