Hi Thomas,

welcome in water!

I think I know this fungus that I collected fairly often in my region, always forming small inconspicuous colonies. Ascomata are about 200µm diam. I did not notice the longitudinal septum but the guttulate content may make it difficult to see.

All attempts to grow it in culture failed, thus it remained unnamed, likely an undescribed genus.

Similar minute whitish ascomata with different ascospores may also occur, microscopy is thus required. None of those that I collected got a name...

Cheers,

Jacques

Thanks Jacques. I cannot say I directly observed a longitudinal septum but rather guessed its presence based on the guttulation. The material is rather rich but I am not surprised it remains unnamed.

All the best
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

did you check congophily? Just to have another +-feature.

regards
