Black with a mycelium.
Per Marstad, 27-02-2019 11:16
Per MarstadI have found this in Norway, on Fraxinus excelsior, growing on a bed of mycelium.
Spores 27-28 x 6-8 my, with 3 segments.
I would like to have a name.
Per.

Re : Black with a mycelium.

Hello Per,

macroscopically this looks much like Chaetosphaerella phaeostroma.

The single spore (is it an ascospore?) could fit, too (but are a bit short) - 3 septa, end cells hyaline.

Best regards, Lothar

In the description in Fungi and Lichens of Great Britain and Ireland tha size of the ascospore is (22-) 31-36 x 6-9 my and the form is exactly like my picture, so your determination is right, I think. Thank you.
Per.
