Mould on Bryophytes

Hello,

I have found this mitosporic fungus many times on epiphytic bryophytes. It is necrotrophic on Frullania dilatata but has also been seen on other epiphytes including Orthotrichum diaphanum, Metzgeria violaceae and Cololejeunea minutissima.

I sent some samples away for culture but it seems that they failed to grow. Some experts think it looks like Ilyonectria sp. I wonder if anybody here has come across it or have an opinion on it.

Conidia hyaline, 25.0-27.0 X 4.5-4.8, 3-septate when mature. I do not have the full details with me at the moment but can get them if required. Conidia were stained in Iodine.
