bitunicate ascomycete on leaves of Vaccinium vitis-idaea from Norway

... collected by my wife, Katharina Krieglsteiner, near the National Park of Jotunheimen in Norway, Visdalsvegen. road to Spiterstulen, about 1100 m NN, 15.7.2018.

In Ellis & Ellis and other literature I found no matching species - although the genus Gibbera seems to be a good hint (?). Manually I measured the spores to be about 12-13,5/2-3 µm (roughly).

Can somebody provide me with a specific name - or with a hint, at least?

Best regards, Lothar

Hi Lothar,
Did you think at Mycosphaerella genus ?
Alain

Mycosphaerella minor likely

Hello Alain,

thank you for this (indeed obvious ...) hint.

So I could look up the species M. minor with fitting details, especially spore form and length (e.g. in Nograsek, Remler: only short notices). M. minor is recorded to be arctic-alpine and polyphagous, but with a preference to Vaccinium an Arctostaphylos (Ericaceae).

Thanks again - and best regards,

Lothar
