Anamorph on wood
Thorben Hülsewig, 23-06-2018 19:29
Hi there,

last week i found this anamorph on rotten wood (Alnus, Fagus or Carpinus).
The immature fruitbody is ochraous and there are only hypha.
Any idea what that could be ?

best regards,
Thorben

Hi Thorben,

It looks like Melanconiella. Please, compare to M. spodiaea for example. You can study the microscopic wood anatomy to check if the substrate is  Carpinus.
