Bernard CLESSEBonsoir à toutes et tous,

Que pensez-vous de cet asco sur pétiole et rachis pourris de fougère femelle ?

Je pense à un Cistella.

Without seeing clearly the hairs or cortical cells I cannot say anything. How are the paraphyses?

Hi Zotto,

Here are my only pictures of the hairs (marginal cells) but I can try to make a new observation.

o.k., now I see better. Perhaps the "hairs" contained VBs, this is now not further visible and would rather exclude a Cistella.

Hi Zotto,

I'm sorry because I was wrong on marginal hairs !

They are cylindrical, in dense tufts, sometimes refracting contents and sometimes with drops of exudate.

What do you think about that ?

Oh this greatly helps! Those are living and I think they point to Psilachnum. But such cortical cells as you figured I am not used to see in that genus.

The oil drops in the spores do not much fit P. chtysostigma, but P. versicolor does not occur on Athyrium.

Living asci you do not have? Becuse of the Psilachnum-drop.

Hi Zotto,

Here are living asci and some additional photos of hair showing especially refractive content. We also clearly see clavate excipulum cells.

This is very good. The Psilachnum-drop is fine. Such clavate hairs are also typical of Calycina. I only hesitate with the spore contents to say Psilachnum chrysostigma (instead of P. versicolor).
