Re : Demande littérature
to my astonishment vols. 57-59 are not digital available on the publishers website, while older and, of course, younger volumes are.

The article interests me too. The printed volume is available in our university library and I ordered it. I can send a scan at weekend...

Re : Demande littérature
Thank you Chris!
a nice paper! Anne Erler-Reichold, who did the colour plate, was an illustrator of children's books and designed also playing cards with fungi:

Re : Demande littérature
Î am also thankful to Chris for this pdf. Considering this nice and precise micro-drawing of Leotia gelatinosa (= L. lubrica) I do not understand how Benedix could observe 3-4 septa in the spores. I know these reports of septate Leotia spores, but I never saw septate spores myself. The globose drops indicate that the spores were alive, otherwise it is actually easy to see "pseudosepta" which are in fact artificial plasma bridges.

Re : Demande littérature
I am sure Benedix observed living material since he claims: "Spezifische Klarheit ist daher fast nur an Frischmaterial zu gewinnen."

Re : Demande littérature
If anybody can send me a photo of living spores of Leotia which have septa I would be very susprised and thankful! I remember Chadefaud also depicted septate spores. - yes, 1944, Rev. Myc. 9: 3-13. 3-septate, but with a few small drops only.

Re : Demande littérature
My few collections show distinctly separated oildrops but no septa. Fungi of Switzerland depicts septate spores already inside the asci, but the drawings of single spores have none. However, we all know that is from dead herbarium material.

Re : Demande littérature
It is very dangerous with dead spores to distinguish between true septa and pseudosepta, the latter being simply plasma between confluent oil. But Chadefaud and Benedix observed living spores.
