Trichoglossum query
Malcolm Greaves, 28-10-2017 18:29
Malcolm GreavesI found a Trichoglossum which I assumed to be T hirsutum. Although all the spores are 15 septate they are all in the range of 160-180 which seems too big according to the literature I have. With spores this large I did check and the asci are all 8 spored so not T tetrasporum. Is this within the "normal" range for spores of T hirsutum?
Thanks
Mal

Re : Trichoglossum query
Hello,
It's Trichoglossum hirsutum var. longisporum.
See: Mains, North American Species of Geoglossum and Trichoglossum in Mycologia 46, 1954, p. 619
