Found on a thin layer of soil in an abandoned chalk quarry. Spores were 13-14.3 x 4
Am I right in thinking this?
Thanks

Re : Microglossum
Dear Malcolm
for me it looks actually like M. tenebrosum as figured by Kucera et al. 2017. I have also photos of a sample from northern Germany in my tenebrosum folder (under the name M. nudipes) that matches perfectly by macroscopy.

This sample has been found to be a DNA match for tenebrosum.

Re : Microglossum
Thanks, Malcolm! I see that in GenBank several sequences exist, moist being 100% identical. Do you have the ITS sequence and did you test a BLAST with it?

The project concerning Microglossums in Wales is being run by another group. It was them who did/organised the DNA test on my sample. I was told that "the result gave a barcode sequence which is consistant with that published for the type specimen" but I have no further details. If it would help I am sure I could find out more information.

Re : Microglossum
Thanks, this is enough. The type is NR_148113, and it is 100% identical with some other sequences in the ITS region.
Only one remark: Is it the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region that was sequenced (briefly called ITS region)?

Re : Microglossum
David who is coordinating the projects has said yes they are using part of the ITS region and each sequence is then run through BLAST to compare with the published sequences on Genbank.
They are generating a Microglossum phylogenetic tree with the publish species and their as yet unknown collections to see where they fit.
