Possible Lophiostoma appendiculatum
Peter Wilberforce, 27-07-2017 15:52
This interesting ascomycete was found on a rotting twig, possibly Acer, in North Yorkshire by Archie McAdam. The pseudothecia are distinctly elongated along the long axis of the twig. The spores are mostly 7+-septate with some showing a small appendage at each end, , up to 40 x 5. The ostiole is very short and flattened. The material matches quite well with the description of this taxon in Chesters and Bell (Myc. Paper 120).Any help will be much appreciated
Many thanbks
Peter
