Cheilymenia?
Malcolm Greaves, 11-06-2017 12:40
Malcolm GreavesThis was found on bare soil where trees had been removed at our local golf club.
I expected it to be a Cheilymenia of some sort or because there had been some burning of brash I also considered Anthracobia but when I examined it I could find no hairs and the spores were distinctly ornamented. Can anyone suggest where I should be looking.
Thanks
Mal

Re : Cheilymenia?
Did you check the separable perispore?

Michel.

Re : Cheilymenia?
What is the spore size?
The ornamentation suggests Cheilymenia crucipila, but hairs should be present... Check another apo!

I have now tried a few apos and not one shows any sign of hairs. A few photos showing the extreme corner of the fruitbody. One or two stray paraphyses but no hairs.
