Hyphomycet ? Or Zygomycet ?
Thorben Hülsewig, 21-11-2016 19:27
Hi there,
a friend sent me this pictures and gave me the permission to show the pictures here.
He found this fungus on the bark of a old tree (Fagus). The conidia are 10-20?m.
What could it be ?

thanks in advance,
Thorben

Re : Hyphomycet ? Or Zygomycet ?
Dear Thorben
Sporophores (presented fragments) on your photo look aseptate that really suggests the idea about Zygomycota representative. Also just at Zygomycota frequently spores of varying shape and size within single sporangium appears. However, I think your fungus is similar with Nematogonum like-hyphomycete. Please see the article in the attached file and, if possible, make more in detail photos.
