When I found this some days ago (Germany, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Schwaebisch Gmuend, Dreifaltigkeits-Friedhof) I had in mind that there is a spcies growing on Carpinus fruit shells with the name X. delitschii and thus thought to have found this.

But when I looked this up I found that X. delitschii has non-branched stromata. In a German forum I found a contribution that X. oxyacanthae may also grow on Carpinus fruits, but I did not find something in literature.

Unfortunately, the stromata are not yet ripe, so I cannot show spore-figures or else. But, fortunately, the findplace is in my vicinity so that I can look for ripe stromata later in the year.

Can somebody help me already now?

meinst Du nicht, daß das eine Anamorphe sein könnte ?
Jacques FOURNIER hat eine schöne Seite zu Xylaria, habe aber keinen Link dazu, im BOLETUS 32/2, 2010 ist ein ausführlicher Artikel von P. RÖNSCH et al. über X. del. und oxy., dort könnten eventuell auch Fragen Deinerseits geklärt werden.

ja sicher - das ist eine Anamorphe; ich schrieb ja, dass die Stromata nicht reif sind.
Vielen Dank für den Hinweis auf den Artikel in Boletus.
Dummerweise macht er mich zwar schlauer, aber nicht schlau genug ...
Meine Stromata sind viel verzweigter, als es für delitschii (und auch oxyacanthae) typisch sein soll. Trotzdem werde ich nun meinen Fund als X. cf. delitschii benennen. Immerhin darf die Art ja wohl ein wenig verzweigt sein ....
