Re : Lophodermium sur aiguilles de Pinus sylvestris
Je pensais à Lophodermium pinastri…

Quelqu'un peut-il confirmer/infirmer ?

Merci d'avance !

Re : Lophodermium sur aiguilles de Pinus sylvestris
Hi Bernard,
in my opinion is this Lophodermium pini- excelsae, good to see the fine stromatic lines. L. pinastri have many and strong stromatic lines and ripe reddish lips, L. p.- exc. the lips are greyish to light blue.
Of course the length of the asco spores must be considered.
Pictures of L. seditiosum, on pinus needles too,  I enclose.
Greetings Peter.

Hi Peter,

A big thank you for your informations and pictures !

I therefore eliminates Lophodermium pinastri and will look at this more closely tonight. So that will be played between Lophodermium pini-excelsae and Lophodermium seditiosum.

See you very soon,

Bernard

Re : Lophodermium sur aiguilles de Pinus sylvestris
Hi Peter,

I just checked several things :

a) transverse stromatic lines on the needles : black, present but rare
b) asci : 120-140x10-14
c) the length of the spores is approximately that of the length asci (once the spores are outside the ascus, they are very difficult to measure and start spiraling)

I think it's OK for Lophodermium pini-excelsae. What about you ?

Thanks in advance.

Bernard

Re : Lophodermium sur aiguilles de Pinus sylvestris
Hi Bernard,
for L. pini- exc. the spores are to long (must be round  60 µm). The color of the lips ?
Probable however L. pinastri.
Greetings Peter.

Re : Lophodermium sur aiguilles de Pinus sylvestris
Hi Peter,

The lips are not red but black. I know I saw one spore out of asci 85 mu long.

So, OK for Lophodermium pinastri.

Thank you !

Bernard
