Hypomyces rosellus
hannie wijers, 19-11-2015 12:52
Hello,
I'd like to ask some help. On a trunk I found tis red  Hypomyces, there wer als rotten fungi on it but I couldn't see wich ones it were, toataly rotten. I thouht it coukd be Hypomyces rosellus, bu tfound nlu konidienspores (Ithink). Im searched for aa key on the web and found this one:http://www.cbs.knaw.nl/publications/Sim68.pdf
When i follow the key I arrived at  Hypomyces samuelsii. Nearly all spores are septated three times. Measur of the spores are between 21-30 x 9-11 µm.
Or is it anyway  Hypomyces rosellus? Can somebody give me a hand with it?

Greetings
Hannie

Re : Hypomyces rosellus
Conidia cylindrical to ellipsoidal, equilateral, with central or occasionally laterally placed basal hilum; 18-30(-36) x (6-)8-10(-12) µm; hyaline; 1-3-septate.

This is from the website you refer to and, indeed, the conidia of H. rosellus should typically be 3-septate. Did you not see the ascospores?

Hello Thomas,

I dit soem material under the bine twice and could,t see ascospores, The first I only saw the conidia and so I tried a second time with the same results.
