a) poils bruns, septés (4-6 septa), à parois épaisses, longs jusqu'à 350 mu max., à base simple
Merci d'avance !
Bernard

I think you need to post more (and possibly larger) images. Ornamentation of liberated spores in cotton blue is essential. The rather sigmoid hairs remind me of this fungus I found: http://www.ascofrance.com/search_forum/31245
But I am no expert in Scutellinia!
Cordialement
Chris

Thank you for your answer!
What beautiful photos about ornamentation of liberated spores in cotton blue ! I never come to good results for spores Scutellinia in cotton blue !
I'll try to find liberated spores and well color the blue cotton again.
Bernard

I read that Benat asked you to check if there were no hairs flexuous like a long etirated S
I think that's the case with my Scutellinia.
Bernard

Hopefully someone who knows a lot more than me may comment.
Chris

Poils marginaux, 130-480 x 18-38 µm, à base bifourchue. Ascospores ornées de verrues et de cordons peu élevés jusqu'à 0,3 µm de haut ........................................................................................ 35. S. kerguelensis

Grand merci d'avance !
Bernard

Big thank you for your opinion Michel and Malcolm!
In the key of Scutellinia, I see that I have chosen instinctively "Ascospores broadly ellipsoid" and not "Ascospores ellipsoid to fusiform" therefore I do understand that I could very well happen in S. nigrohirtula. In the key does not appear the spore measures S. kerguelensis.
Does anyone have drawings or pictures of comparative spores of both species and their spore measures compared?
Big thank you in advance!
Bernard
The measurement of the spores are S nigrohirtula 19.4-26.5 x 13.8-16.6 and S kerguelensis 21.8-28.2 x 14.4-21.8 (S olivascens 19.4-27.2 x 12.8-17.6)
This gives a great deal of overlap and it is the ornamentation that is important.
Mal
Which key are you using?

A big thank you for your information and to the very interesting Schumacher page!
I use the Schumacher key to translated into French by R. Dougoud.
Bernard
Even though the key splits on broadly elipsoid and elipsoid to fusiform looking at the spores of S kerguelensis and S nigrohirtula there is not a great deal of difference in the shape.
Mal

I'll be careful next time
