Dear collegues,
we have found a Pyrenomycete during our dead wood project, which occured in geat numbers on Carpinus, Betula and Fagus.
Macroscopically it looked like Melogramma or Coniochaete, but microscopically it is neither of these, as the spores are fusoid, hyaline, one-septate and approx 20-25 x 5 µm. They are full of oil.
Has anybody an idea in which genus or group we shall search? An idea was Chaetosphaeria, but are there species with such long spores?
thank you and best regards,
Andreas
perhaps chaetosphaeria pulviscula would be an idea.
best
dirk
Hallo Dirk,
prima Idee, passt erst mal ganz gut. Werde ich weiter verfolgen!
beste Grüße,
Andreas
