Hi to all, Does anyone have: Subramanian C.V. &
Chaetosphaeria conidial stage?

Would I be right in thinking that the images below show the conidiophores of a Chaetosphaeria, and if so possibly of C. innumera?
Very small perithecia on dead wood of a Corylus branch, surrounded by numerous dark conidiophores. Conidiophores septate, brown with pale tips, 95-145 x 5 µm, conidia 4-5 x 3-4 µm. Not an ascus or spore to be seen!
With regards,
Jenny

Re : Chaetosphaeria conidial stage?
Hi Jenny
yes you appear to have a Chloridium there, one of the rather wide range of Chaetosphaeria anamorphs (many of which begin with a 'C' oddly). It's a pity you don't have asci & ascospores as this would probably result in a determination; I would be reluctant to express a definite opinion based on anamorph alone.
I shall send a couple of useful papers to you.
Best wishes
