                Adio Stip,
If you're interested, we have found this S. globosa three times during the zone alpine ascomycetes 2014 foray in the french Pyrenees.
One of the collection has a special ecology : at the entrance of a marmot hole.
Amically,
Beñat

                Hi Beñat,
that is a lot for such a rare species, at the entrance of a marmot hole is rather unknown although the species seems to like disturbed places.
I was interested in this species because someone did send me a collection for verification. Unfortunately (or not) it turned out to be something completely different: Hypomyces porphyreus! So I still don't know what Sarcoleotia globosa really looks like, if you have any (micro)photos in living state to share I would appreciate very much.
Amitiés,
Stip

                Adio Stip,
I don't have photos because :
- one collection : my head in the marmot hole and Nicolas Van Vooren behind me to receive specimens, so impossible to make a macro-photo.
- two other collections but I don't remember who...
- microscopic studies : I don't remember too, perhaps Michel or Brigitte, perhaps Nico...
If they see this message...
- exsiccata : not in my herbarium, sure.
If you want, I can send a mail to Gilles Corriol which has made a table with all datas of this foray. We can find names and herbaria.

                Hi Stip.
Here is a picture of one of the Pyrenean collection and also a drawing of living spores.
Main microscopic features are: Medullary excipulum of t. intricata. Asci 127-150 × 10-12 µ, with crozier, apical ring IKI+ (bb), pars spor. 21-34 µm, 8-spored. Paraphyses brown pigmented, Ø 2-2.5 µm. Spores 23-30 × 4-5 µm wiht numerous LBs
