Hymenoscyphus 020514 41

Miguel Ãngel RibesGood evening

This small 800-1000 µm yellow-orange, stalked "Hymenoscyphus" on Abies alba branch has a gelatinous consistency, especially when making cuts. It was semi-dried, semi-live. The most special is the structure of a thick ectal excipulum, who I do not know define as oblita + gelatinous ¿?

Asci euamyloid, I guess with croziers, but I am not sure.

Spores elipsoid with 2 big guttules at the ends and another small, with a septum at maturity, (9.8) 10.4 - 13.6 (15.3) x (3.2) 3.7 - 4.3 (4.7) µm; Q = (2.3) 2.5 - 3.4 (4.0) ; N = 45; Me = 11.9 x 4.0 µm ; Qe = 3.0

Paraphysis cylindrical with abundant VBs.

I do not find any Hymenoscyphus simiar. Could you help me, please, though it is semi-alive?

Thank you.

Miguel Á. Ribes.

Hi Miguel,
you don't mention the type of apical ring, is it Calycina like?
This gelatinous excipulum points more to Bisporella
greetings,
Stip

Hi Stip

Sorry for the delay.

I only have this bad pictures of the asci apex, but I think enough to see that are not Hymenoscyphus like, are more Calycina type.

So, with keys I suppose it is B. citrina, again.

Thank you.

Thank you again Stip.

Bisporella is like a magician, always being disguising.

Best wishes.
