Mick PeerdemanHi all,One of my earliest microscopy attempts, so
This has appeared on an incubated rabbit pellet. Clearly a Sordaria, but there appears to be a little uncertainty about species delimitations in certain areas of that genus. Following Doveri this comes out quite well as Sordaria lappae, but I would welcome comments from members more familiar with this genus than I.Ascospores 20.3-22.5 x 14.3-16.6µm.
Merci
Chris
on an urelated note Le Tour de France is currently here in Yorkshire, with French flags flying from town halls and huge crowds lining the route. Tomorrow it will pass within 200 metres of my home! C'est magnifique!!
I think it is actually Sordaria lappae; it is often difficult to separate the species of this genus, but the shape and size of spores are correct. It is important to check the average Q.
The Tour de France also passes very close to home, you can see the landscape can be on television.
Michel.
Qe = 1.4 (I forgot to mention that)
amitiés
Chris
