I recently examined Celtis occidentalis branches
It would be great if someone could give me some help on this one. It may be lichenized.
Substrate:
Deciduous deadwood
Macro:
Apothecia mostly 0.3-0.6 mm in diameter, immersed or superficial, often somewhat elongated, especially so when drying. Apothecial disc reddish brown. Margin distinct, somewhat prominent, black. Anamorphs nearly globose (perithecia?), 0.1-0.15 mm, with conidia oozing out in white masses.
Micro:
Excipular parts strongly covered in very dark substance. Margin with strongly bent and intertwined blunt hyphal ends. Asci 85-105 x 9-11 µm. No IKI reaction observed. Paraphyses strongly bent and sometimes branched. Ascospores 15-19 x 4-6 µm, 3 septate and readily germinating.
Conidia ellipsoid, about 3 x 1.5 µm
Thanks for any help
Stefan
