I recently examined Celtis occidentalis branches

Found on deer dung.
At first I had the impression of Thelebolus stercoreus but the fruitbody did not compair.
The fruitbody is very hard to open because of its flexibility and once open it only contains hyphen.
Most of the time it can be found in company of Thelebolus stercoreus and also with Volutella ciliata and in this case also with Pyxidiophora sp.
Wall is thick and covered with bulges, hyphen have a width of 2.2 um; a rounded top and are septated.
