I am a Japanese amateur mycologist, this is my first post in the forum.
Last summer, I found some pyrenomycetes on decaying wood, probably Quercus sp.
Stroma superficial, cushon-shaped, 3-8 mm., pinkish, roughtened with bullet-shaped purplish-brown projections of ostioles.
Perithecia immerced at different levels, 270-320 ???m. in diameter.
Asci cylindric, IKI-, 8-spored, uniseriate, 2.8-3.2 x 34-42 ?m.
Ascospores subglobose, hyaline, smooth (minutely punctate?), 2.2-2.6 ?m.
I don't know a genus for it.
Can you help me?

I think, Hypocrea is characterised by perithecia in the upper part of the stromata, and bicellular ascospores disarticulating in the ascus to 16 spores.
Is their any Hypocrea species that perithecia arranged at different levels such as my fungus?

welcome on the forum with this very unusual fungus.
I am thinking of Amplistroma, a new genus created by Sabine Huhndorf et al (2009) Mycologia 101: 904-919. The combination of small fleshy stromata with projecting ostioles, polystichous perithecia and cylindrical asci with hyaline minutes globose ascosopores matches well this genus.
Amplistroma carolinianum, known from USA, fits fairly well your collection but you should ask confirmation from Sabine who is a member of the forum too.
