Sydowiella ambigua

Björn WergenHi all,

today I have found a small Diaporthales on attached, but dead Betula branches with brown conidia spores and ascospores about 20-27x8-9µm. My problem is, that there is no conidia state described in Ellis&Ellis, for S. ambigua. But for Melanconis stilbostoma, which has smaller spores (Ellis&Ellis, Arx&Müller).

My question: Do you know something about a conidia state from S. ambigua? The key in Arx&Müller directs to the genus Melanconis, which is also a synonym genus for S. ambigua.

I think it IS Sydowiella ambigua. But perhaps you have another idea ;)

regards,
björn
