"Eutypoid fungus on Rosa
Björn Wergen, 05-02-2012 20:44
Björn WergenHi there,

I have found an eutypoid pyrenomycete on dead stems of Rosa. It has spores around 7-9x1,5-2µm and longstalked, 8spored asci 85-110x5-8µm.

The Ostioles do not have any "ornamentation", as seen in many Eutypa-specimen. There is also a very thick perithecial wall.

Ok I think it is Cryptosphaeria lignyota...or not? Well watch the photos, and perhaps you can help me :)

many thanks and regards
björn

Je pencherais pour Eutypa lata. I think it could be Eutypa lata.
Mais si d'autres veulent donner leur avis ?

Hi Alain,

thank you for your answer. I have looked for pictures of Cryptosphaeria and found some made by Enrique. The species should have bigger spores with smaller oil drops and ascus tips are absolutely IKI -.

I also thought about E. lata. It seems to be the only specimen which fits to the ostioles of my finding.

I have some problems to understand your question. I am not that good in french :D

Ah ok, I understand it now, sorry.

regards,
björn

Good guess Alain!
Always have Eutypa lata on mind when dealing with Diatrypaceae, it's a very tricky one!
Good night,
Jacques
