Herpotrichia?
Björn Wergen, 03-11-2010 22:17
Björn WergenSalut,

I have another strange thing here, I will try to describe it, hope you can do something with it ^^

Fruitbody is a perithecium, 0,2-0,4 mm, black, in 50x with small "hairs" (hyphae?).
Spores 25-29 x 5,5-6,5 µm, with 1-2 (3) septes, sometimes with swollen central cell, in most of the spores with a bigger guttule per cell and a few smaller ones, pale green to pale green-brownish.
Asci with 8 spores, short stalked. Paraphyses not seen.

Grows on dead twig of ?Salix or Alnus.

Thanks a lot for information ;)

cheers,
Kazuya

Hi Kazuya,
it's difficult to tell exactly what your fungus is but I suggest you check H. herpotrichoides in Barr 1984, Mycotaxon 20: 1-38, available on Cyberliber.
On your macrophoto, something seems to come out from the ostioles (spores?) and makes it difficult to evaluate what the apex looks like really. The hyphal subiculum is not clearly visible on your photos. Data on asci and pseudoparaphyses would be useful too.
Good luck,
Jacques

Re:Herpotrichia?
Thanks a lot for the information, with this literature I came to the result, that my fungus is H. herpotrichoides.
