Hi everybody !Here is an asco found on Eutypa sp. by a friend of mine. Lozère 16/10/2010.
May be it'is too old for ID but may be you'll have an idea ?
Ascomes <0,5mm diam. Grey to white.
Spores cylindrical 8-9x3-4 um with 2 guttules at each side with many very small ones all around.
Ascus IKI-, no croziers, 45-60x8 um
paraphyses curved at the end, 2-3um wide at the base and less then 1 um at the end.
Any idea ?
Yannick

                Hi Yannick,
You mean the hairs are curved? This is a Unguiculariopsis species, probably U. parasitica which is known from Eutypa lata, if you have 10 Mb free in your postoffice you will get literature soon.
please upload some more micropictures.

                Thank's Stip.
I was just looking at Zoto DVD and found this genus Unguiculariopsis.
So, what I have seen are not paraphyses but hairs ???
I'm ready for your 10 MB litterature !
Which pictures would you like ?

                Hi Yannick,
these are typical Unguiculariopsis hairs, it would interest me to see the living asci and spores.

                Hi Yannick
The colour of the disc looks like Unguiculariosps, could you do a section or otherwise look for the excipulum (brown in Ungnuiculariopsis, hyaline in Unguiculella)?

Zotto : Excipulum is brown here. I'll try to make photos this night of a section.
