Scutellinia hyperborea? (barlae, paludinella?)

Bonsoir,

Hi Tanja
Have you any photos of the base of the hairs? The size of the spores is best measured from a spore drop, did you do this or measure in the asci?

Hello Malcolm,

I have two photos of the hairs, but it´s not very good. (I hope to get my Laptop repaired soon...). The bases were mostly simple or with two branches.

The spore-size I took from an open ascus and I didn´t take the size of the ascus. But I will do it. I had two collections and the photos I took from the first one, which was very young. The second I thought to be a Melastiza, but in the microscope it was the same Scutellinia, but much older.

hi tanja, with this short hairs and perfectly rounded spores this would be a good barlae to me. in my experiences its in thuringia a "trockenrasen"-species on chalcarous ground. it would be interesting to see a micro with a look on the edge of the spores, because the ornamentation is a bit truncate, but very much lower than in case of trechispora.

bad micro ...

Hi Tanja
I would agree with Dirk that with these short and simple rooted hairs S barlae is the most likely.

Hello Dirk and mal,

Yes I think you´re right. It´s S. barlae.
