Il est curieux de noter que le nom de macracantha (grandes épines comme dit François) a été mal utilisé dans l'histoire et la classification des discomycétes d'Europe par Boudier : une erreur d'impression donnait macrantha, erreur reprise par Seaver et Dennis,avec Lamprospora macrantha. L'erreur est corrigée en fin de volume dans les errata.
