Probably this species could be interesting from the view of bio-control of tar spot disease.
On attached dead leaves of A. polifolia affected by Rhytisma andromeda at first, 29.7.13, near Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.
Ascocarps immersed in Rhytisma's stroma, appearing at the surface as irregular warts with orangish punctation, globose, up to 100 mk in diameter, pore more or less pronounced; walls of layers of brown irregular cells; asci about 40 x 10 mk; paraphysoid tissue not developed; spores fusoid, hyaline, two-celled, slightly heteropolar, with deep constriction, some broken in two parts, about 15–17 x 2.5–4 (n=5).
