An Australian colleague (Heino Lepp) submits a collection of a discomycete made some years ago, in New Zealand. The species was growing on a palm frond immersed in a stream. The ascospores are very surprising.All the data are provided in the attached PDF.
If anyone has an idea.

Wow! Nice fungus!
I suspect it is closely related to Bicornispora... but with an exposed hymenium.
I think Peter Johnston will be interested in sequencing it.

Yes, looks rutstroemiaceous. Hope that someone will apply Lugol to see if it asci are really inamyloid.
