Pyrenomycete with yellow stroma
Maren Kamke, 11-05-2013 10:45
Maren KamkeHello,
I need your help once more.
I found this fungus on phragmites sp. or some other gras. It grows in groups of up to 8 perithecia, up to 1x0,5mm with a white to ochre-yellow stroma. Spores are hyalin 21-31x6-7 µm (average 26x6,65 µm) with one septum. Asci 115x14 µm, IKL negative.
Thank you
Regards
Maren

Microscopy reminds me Massarina lacustris : http://www.ascofrance.fr/search_recolte/2547
But macroscopy doesn"t fit.

Re : Pyrenomycete with yellow stroma
Hi Maren,
I know a very similar fungus on submerged wood with soft black multilocular ascomata and pale orange contents. I mesured ascospores 29-34 x 7.5-8.5 µm?, hyaline, 1-3 septate, with a sheath, jus a bit over what you report. I have absolutely no idea in what genus of Pleosporales it might be accommodated.
Cheers,
Jacques
