A collegue of mine sent me a collection of discomycetes on buried pits of Cornus mas:
Apothecia discoid, stalked, disk plane, 1,5-6 mm diam., with up to 10x1mm tapering stalk; hymenium ivory, reddening when hurted, outside and stalk slightly fimbrous, concolorous except the blackish brown lower part of the stalk. Asci with apical apparatus of Hymenoscyphus-type, medium blued in IKI, 77-97x5-7 µm, with croziers. Spores ellipsoid, oblong or ovoid, 6-9x3-4 µm, LC 0-1, smooth, hyaline.Paraphyses cylindrical, upper cell mostly entirely and second cell partly filled with refractive, globose vacuoles. Medullary excipulum of hyaline textura intricata with hyphae 2,5-6 µm diam.Ectal excipulum with hyaline subglobose to prismatical cells up to 45x18 µm; covering hyphae sparce, 2,5-3 µm diam., partly filled with refractive, globose vacuoles and with protruding, clavate end cells 5-7 µm diam.
Years ago I received a simular collection from Robert Collot.
I don't find anything matching in litterature. Your help is welcome.

Hi Bernard,
there is a paper by Huth&Rönsch 2003 on fungi on fruits of cornus mas. The have a Lambertella and a Hymenoscyphus sp.
I will send you a copy.

Martin is right, it is this Hymenosyphus described there. I have quite a lot of images, especially from a sample by Torsten Richter. I considered the genus Gloeotinia, although the known species have inamyloid asci. maybe I am wrong, but Phaeohelotium sounds strange too with apos with such a long stipe.

This is another species to describe, and it would be very interesting to explore its relationship by a sequence.
