Lachnum?
Marja Pennanen, 21-07-2010 13:41
Hello,
I've overcollected ascomycetes now after it finally rained.
I've met these beauties on two different places on Carex.
They are 0,5-1 mm wide and about 1 mm high.

Re:Lachnum?
The spores are 10-21x1,5-2 and can carry some small droplets.
Asci are 45-60x4-5, IKI+ and hairs up to 70x2,5-3. Their tips are often swollen to 4-6 micrometers.

Re:Lachnum?
The paraphyses are very lanceolate and 3-6 micrometers wide, 10-20 exceeding the asci.
My sources haven't got a species fitting these properties.

Re:Lachnum?
Obviously a species which does not turn reddish. Sorrry, I have presently no time and I will be away over a week, you may know that I will meet Seppo and others in Lapland.

Re:Lachnum?
Could well be Lachnum schoenoplecti, a species which I mainly saw on Carex. Previously I distinguished between Schoenoplectus and Carex, but with a find from Lapland I believe the two are the same.

L. tenue has shorter spores, both have asci without croziers.

Re:Lachnum?
Danke sehr Zotto :)

I have no description of this species, so it would have been impossible for me to reach a determination. This even grows "on my own yard", so I was eager to know, what it is. So thanks. thanks. thanks.

I'd really have use for a complete key for Lachnaceae, but suppose such doesn't exist :(

Greetings: Marja
