I found this specimen on a very rotten branch in a marshy area. Other branches close by had Ascocoryne cylichnium on them.I have found photos of the anomorph of A solitaria which look very similar but I cannot find photos of the anomorph of A cylichnium. Is it likely to be one of these?

A. cylichnium does not have an anamorph. This one could also be that of A. solitaria. With the microscope the two anamorphs can be distinguished: Phialides narrow vs. globose.

Thanks. The Phialides look swollen rather than globose but definitely not narrow. I cannot show because my camera is playing up at the moment. Which species does that suggest?

Ascocoryne solitaria (anamorph Coryne albida).
The swollen phialides are not always globose, also elipsoid/fusoid, but they commonly contain a large crystal in the living cytoplasm.

Yo tengo esta recolecta de hace un mes sobre madera húmeda de haya.
Miden hasta 7 mm de altura.
Pongo fotos de fiálides y de conidios.
¿Es Coryne albida?

Yes, this is Coryne albida.
Only the conidiogenous cells are not alive as it seems, therefore the crystal not visible.

No he podido observar el cristal, la recolecta la hice hace ya más de 15 días y los tenía ya secos cuando tomé la muestra.
En próximos encuentros intentaré ver los cristales.
